WrestleMania Predictions: Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt #WrestleMania #Undertaker #BrayWyatt #TakervsWyatt
After Bray Wyatt's promo on Monday Night it is now apparent that he is calling out the Undertaker. In fact, many sources are saying the match is already confirmed! Take a look at Wyatt's January 16th promo below:
From the nails and the coffin we see that Wyatt is emulating one of the Undertakers O.G. promos. See below: (this video is labled wrong from the casket, the Undertaker is making a casket for Kamala and not Yokozuna).
Okay so what now? I think he Undertaker is going to use this match to reassert his dominance. I do not believe Bray Wyatt is worthy of a match against the Undertaker. Some bloggers have even gone as far as referring to Wyatt as the "New Undertaker". This is absurd for various reasons.
First off, let's be clear there is only one Undertaker. The Undertaker's character and legacy is so much more than spook, mysticism and metaphors. I think to imply that just because Wyatt's character has a unearthly, sinister and supernatural personality does not mean he is in the same category as the Undertaker. The Boogeyman, Papa Shango, Kane, Mankind all at one point had this sort of demeaner, but that does not mean they were the next Undertaker or that they were even a comparison. The Undertaker's character is a member of the undead who dominated his way to the WWE Title in a year. Bray Wyatt has yet to gain the WWE Title and it has been almost three years since Wyatt has been in the WWE as Bray Wyatt. Also, Wyatt had a clan doing most of his dirty work the first two years and still did not make it to the top.
Secondly, The Undertaker is going to be on his A game...believe that. After a devastating loss at last year's WrestleMania anyone who knows the Undertaker knows that he is regenerated and will come back better than we saw him last. From Wyatt's promo it is clear that he is expecting the same Undertaker that lost too Brock Lesnar last year, but he is in for a surprise. I expect the Undertaker to resurface as a Undertaker on a mission. He will give Wyatt no leeway and will make sure Wyatt regrets his decision to challenge the Phenom.
Lastly, the Undertaker is set to retire in the next one to two years, with a legacy and history like the Undertaker's it is highly unlikely he will retire a loser. Despite many feeling this should be Bray Wyatt's push, at this point in the Undertaker's career he does not have room to give anyone a push. He has given several wrestlers a push during his nearing quarter of a century residence with the WWE.
This match-up will prove to be entertaining. Both wrestlers are masters at promos, mind games, and entertainment. Both are also great in-ring workers. But for the WWE to sell this feud, it needs to pick up speed at FastLane. The Undertaker should send Wyatt a message or make an appearance or something. I am very excited to see this match at WrestleMania, but like I said, I expect the Undertaker to redeem himself and prove that there is on true Phenom of the WWE. In the last 25 years the Undertaker has rightfully earned his title as the Phenom of the WWE and Bray Wyatt nor anyone else will be able to live up to the legacy the Undertaker has left. Besides if Bray was the "new Undertaker" wouldn't that kill the Undertaker's persona of the undead?? That would make his 25 year history in the WWE a hoax because he is not who he said was. A member of the undead does not die off and pass the torch to the next superstar, rather he goes out on top so that no one, not even 50 years from now can question his legacy and contribution to the WWE. I expect the Undertaker to come out of this match victorious and possibly go on to next year's WrestleMania and be victorious against Sting. Now that is how the leader of the WWE locker-room is supposed to retire!
