The Pre-Show
The New Day vs. Rusev Day
-This was a fun match that everyone wishes went longer. The
fact that it was on the pre-show is pretty disappointing because we all enjoyed
the match and the WWE could’ve let these teams have a little more time to shine.
-Also, we have to admit…the New Day are just the best tag
team in the world. Many people say the Young Bucks are, but the New Day are
just absolutely superb. They are the definition of tag-team wrestling in the modern era and every
time they are in the ring they put on a clinic in professional wrestling.
-The disagreement between Rusev and English seems to be
playing into an eventual break-up and feud between the two. The slow build to the
implosion probably means we will see the culmination of this break-up at TLC or Royal
Rumble.
-We all enjoy Rusev Day but until WWE figures out what they want to do with Rusev…the team isn’t benefiting anyone, all it does is get cheap pops from the crowd.
-We all enjoy Rusev Day but until WWE figures out what they want to do with Rusev…the team isn’t benefiting anyone, all it does is get cheap pops from the crowd.
-Sidenote...how would anyone think the New Day was loosing if Kofi and Big E were the two wrestling. They are the perfect duo and usually are successful when they are the two involved in title matches.
Result: The New Day Retain the SmackDown Live Tag Team
Titles

Main Card
Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton
-This match spoke to the old school brutal days of Hell in a
Cell
-Randy Orton bled! We saw blood in the PG era! Whew hew…realism!
-This match was top-tier wrestling, top-tier storytelling,
and excellent brutality. Orton and Hardy have magic and they should continue
this feud because that means we all get to see excellent matches.
-However, Jeff we don’t want you doing any more dangerous
spots please…we don’t need them and we rather have you healthy and safe.
-The visual of Jeff carried out on a stretcher was entirely
too much for me personally. I had to take a break and breath.
Result: Randy Orton defeats Jeff Hardy
Grade: A+
Charlotte v. Becky Lynch
-This match was everything fans have been wanting for over a
year
-Lynch showed her dominance and that she is a force in the ring...something that is long overdue
-She defeated Flair and became the Smackdown Women’s
Champion
-Very Very simple nothing overly done, it was just perfect.
Result: Becky Lynch is the new SmackDown Live Women’s
Champion
Grade: A
Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose
-Now onto what I consider...match of the night.
-I believe I stated in my predictions post that this was
going to be a show stealer…well, it was.
-This was a beautiful match where some of the best performers
in the world showcased their amazing skills
-This match told a story…the heels were heels and the faces
were faces.
-This match had everything you want in a match…technical
wrestling…good heel work…and exciting show-stopping action.
-Drew McIntyre is an amazing athlete…I never knew he was
that good until tonight.
-This match was EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!
-But, considering who is in this match…is anyone surprised?
Result: Ziggler and McIntyre Retain the Titles
Grade: A+
AJ Styles vs.
Samoa Joe
-Well…AJ Styles In my personal opinion is the best in the
world…period
-Samoa Joe is not far behind him
-Therefore, what more do you expect from two of the best in
the world today
-This match was really good…the controversial ending ensures
their feud continues while still keeping the belt on Styles
-The WWE may want Styles to break a title record which he
should, he deserves it
-The only negative take away from this match is that after the match the rematch was made on the exact same show. To me, this takes away from everything the
competitors just did. Moments after the match concluded...a rematch was made. There is a
reason rematches are made the next night. Making the rematch the exact same night, moments after the match ends erases the awesome match the two just had. WWE pulled
the trigger too fast with that one.
Result: AJ Styles Retains
Grade: B+
Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. Maryse and The Miz
-Here is the deal…both Brie and Maryse are moms who just had
babies…they are fricken rock stars for this!
-Here is also the deal…this was the worst match of the
night. However, considering the rest of the card was really good…that isn’t too
much of an insult.
-The truth is, we didn’t need Maryse and Bella in the match
at all. It was overkill for the feud and watered down the heated rivalry.
Adding wives/mothers in a heated feud with an enemy…umm doesn’t seem too
realistic.
-I wish we saw Brie and Maryse wrestle more…but then again,
I don’t. Those gifs of those botches…geesh Brie…practice more, please. And to
think, there was a time people thought Brie was better than Nikki smh.
-Why would Daniel Bryan attempt a diving head-butt? Why? Don’t
do that again!
-The finish was meh but it protected Bryan so that is always
good…I’m sure Maryse enjoyed pinning Brie considering their personal issues
Result: Maryse and the Miz defeat Bryan and Bella
Grade: B-
Ronda Rousey vs. Alexa Bliss
-So Ronda had injured ribs…umm okay
-All I have to say is that this match was way-way too long
-If Rousey had such a hard time with Bliss how will she ever overcome Nikki Bella
-WWE considers Nikki one of their top female performers of
all time…so if Rousey can barely put away Bliss she has no chance against Bella
-Three matches featuring women was pretty good but if the
WWE put more time into storylines we could really have GOLD with the Evolution
pay-per-view
-Also, the Bella vs. Rousey feud will probably take flight
at the Australian pay-per-view as they are randomly thrown together in a six-woman
tag match
-I am looking forward to it…I am a huge Nikki Bella fan if
you haven’t noticed lol
Result: Rousey defeats Bliss
Grade: B
Roman Reigns v. Braun Strowman
-The WWE’s new method to get fans through a Roman Reigns match is
to distract them with shenanigans
-Rollins and Ziggler going through a table
-McIntyre and Ambrose fighting
-Oh yes…and of course, the RETURN OF BROCK LESNAR!!!
-I don’t even remember the match as much as I remember these
shenanigans
-The WWE clearly knows we are not fond of Reigns so they are
going to throw everything except the kitchen sink…including Mick Foley…in a
match so we can forget Roman is even there
-This begs the question…if the WWE needs to pull all of this
to get us through a Reigns match…why won't they just it cool on his push and let
us love him organically? It will happen if they ease up on it a bit
-The finish was as anti-climactic as they come…however the
return of Brock Lesnar gave so many brownie points even I was excited. And I am
no Brock Lesnar fan.
Result: Draw
