CM Punk Situation Shows The Elite Should Not be EVPs

Matt Jackson,   Nick Jackson , and   Kenny Omega   ( The Elite ) serve as AEW’s Executive Vice Presidents. This was initially part of AEW’s appeal. Fans and wrestlers felt that they would have a unique voice because wrestlers were helping to run the company. However, several former wrestling executive-level personnel warned that this would eventually become a problem. The naysayers were right. It has long been rumored that The Elite has had backstage issues with other wrestlers. This would mean that The Elite’s backstage issue with   CM Punk   is not a singular incident. It has been alleged by several in the wrestling business that The Elite pushed   Cody Rhodes   out of AEW and that The Elite has done their part in hindering the growth and success of FTR. The problem is that The Elite has corporate power over their competition. As an analogy, this is equivalent to The McMahons having an EVP role in AEW. Do you think the McMahons would book Dynamite to...

Dear The Firefly Fun House Match

Dear Firefly Fun House Match -- You are officially one of the matches that I love. I will watch you and think of you often. Brittney Yes, Yes, Yes, this match was mind-blowing!   Now, I am usually a fan and on the team of Jim Cornette.  But this match was everything! The homage to Saturday Night Main Event and Monday Night Nitro was EVERYTHING! The playback of John Cena's debut. As an old school wrestling fan, this was just what I need to add the pizazz to the new school. I think WWE forgets about the old old old school too much.   This was a perfect way to remind fans that this is the same WWE that they have been watching for fifty years.   This is how you rectify an arena with no fans! You create a masterpiece. A story, a mind-blowing extravaganza…this is WrestleMania. AEW flexed their creativity muscles over the last few weeks in ways that were entirely too silly and slapstick for my taste. I like my wrestling to at times, escape reality i.e....

WWE Evolution Results: Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya Win!!!

The Riott Squadd shows why teamwork is makes the dreamwork. What a match! Sahsa, Bayley and Natalya shows why each deserved their own spot on Evolution. I love when Natalya gets her shine...she deserves that and so much more. Natalya paid tribute to her dad with the heart attack, Bayley with the Randy Savage elbow and the Banks with the five star frog splash!!! What a match!! Grade: A

Mae Young Classic Finals: Toni Storm

First of all, Io is frickin amazing! That moonsault to the outside made me scream with Joy! This match was just real real wrestling. So beautiful. Toni suplexed Io on the ring apron and I screamed in fear! These women left nothing on the line! Finally Toni Storm takes the victory. What an amazing match!!! Grade: A-

20 Women Battle Royal: Nia Jax Wins

The best entrance was Alundra Blayze entrance I almost died. The match started with the IIconics being eliminated. Mandy and Sonya eliminate Molly Holly, Kelly Kelly, and Torrie Wilson off the gate. Mandy then eliminated Sonya Deville. The match started with a new vs. old dynamic and it was pretty awesome. Alundra Blayze was eliminated by Nia Jax in a very SAFE fashion lol. Nia then eliminated Maria. Nia and Tamina began clearing house. Carmella and Ivory began a dance off. Mandy tried to capitlize and Carmella eliminated Mandy. Ember Moon then eliminated Dana Brooke. Michelle McCool I have to say looks better than ever she is in amazing shape! However, Michelle was eliminated by Ember Moon. Asuka and Naomi double team Tamina but Naomi's momentum allowed Tamina to easily eliminate her from the match. Ember Moon then eliminated Carmella. Ivory delivers a amazing cross body to Tamina. But her enthusiasm allows her to be eliminated by Asuka. Ivory still got it! The fin...

WWE Evolution Results: Trish Stratus and Lita Def. Alicia Fox and Mickie James

Can I just say that the fans were so involved in this match it brought tears to my eyes and I am not in the arena. The fan participation is more than I have heard at a WWE event in years. This is truly hope! The match starts off with Lita and Mickie James. The fans were overwhelmingly behind Lita reminding the WWE Hall of Famer "you still got it". Stratus tagged in and she and Lita payed homage to The Hardy Boyz doing a signature spot. Stratus then directed Alicia to tag in Mickie James and everyone watching got goosebumps as James and Stratus once again came face to face. Signature spot happened when Stratus did a huricarana off of the top rope to James. Alicia and James tried to leave but Stratus and Lita stopped them. Alexa contributed to interference as she stopped the Litasault. The ref just refused to allow the match to be ruined...where were you Alicia? You almost ruined the match :(. However, later in the match Lita hit the Litasault on both Mickie and ...

Roman Reigns Announces He Has Leukemia #Raw #WWE

Roman Reigns just shocked the WWE Universe by announcing that he has to relinquish the WWE Universal Title because his leukemia has returned. He has been leukemia free for 11 years and the disease has reemerged in his body. This saddening news; even though Reigns is often criticized and critiqued by the WWE Universe it is all in good fun and no one wants to see the superstar injured. I pray that he recovers and makes a return to the squared circle stronger and better than ever before.

A Review of A Month of Mondays Podcast - Issue 2 – The Before All In One

Review of A Month of Mondays Issue 2 – The Before All In One First, let me explain that I am an avid podcast enthusiast. I listen to an array of podcasts including podcasts for meditation, mindfulness and career development. However, I specifically enjoy wrestling podcasts. Well, because I am a wrestling nerd! Also, wrestling podcasts are addicting! I personally am a proud Cult of Cornette member and I never miss a Jim Cornette podcast episode; I even listen to other podcasts whenever Jim is a guest. A Month of Mondays actually reminds me of Jim Cornette’s podcast. A Month of Monday’s is very fluid. The hosts often analyze the WWE and the Indy scene. They look at the differences, similarities and problems faced by the WWE and the Indy scene; while also discussing how both the WWE and the Indy scene are affecting the world of professional wrestling. (They do throw a little Jim Cornette shade…but I forgive them J ). I love that they cut to audi...
